Heads heavy after a big Territory Day, we set off to Buffalo Creek about 20 mins out of Darwin to get some fishing in whilst the girls went to town to spend our hard earned dollars. No luck this round, but we did manage to lose a few lures. The walking track to the rocky outcrop up the creek passes over a small tributary of the creek, where a metal beam has been placed so people can walk across. When we returned the tide had come in and the metal beam was submerged. Was tricky balancing over the mangrove roots, through the slippery mud and across the submerged beam. Probably a favourite hunting ground for crocodiles preying on unsuspecting tourists. We didn’t see any crocodiles but it’s likely they are there. Buffalo creek is a nice spot for fishing and the beach is good too. Too bad it didn’t produce any fish.
