Shelley Beach, West Cape Howe National Park

We have officially survived our first night on the road. Beautiful scenic spot we’re at – Shelley Beach in West Cape Howe National Park, about half an hours drive from Albany. Access is good on a sealed road but the descent into the camping area is very steep. There’s long drop toilets and gas bbqs provided, and marginal Telstra mobile reception – good to test out our aerial and internet sharing with our laptops. Joe is enjoying the novelty of huge fridges, endless solar power, internet and laptop whilst camping in a rugged area. Not sure how long we will stay here…until we get bored maybe? It can also be noted that these are the best long drops we have ever experienced, they don’t even smell!!!!

For those of you that understand or even care about power distribution Joe wanted to share that the solar panels are charging at 200 watts 9am in the morning…apparently that is impressive.
