Another great lake on Fraser Island is Lake Wabby. It is accessed along a couple of kilometer walking track from the beach carpark. The lake is due to disappear any time soon due to the encroaching dune system so make sure you have a look before it’s gone for good. Damn nature can be so destructive to the environment at times. Such a lack of regard for the environment should not be tolerated.

The long drop toilets at the carpark to Lake Wabby are almost full and are the smelliest toilets we have ever come across. Please ensure you have not recently eaten when using the toilets to mitigate the risk of vomiting  Also no naked flames – the atmosphere within the toilets is explosively potent.
