Porongurup Wine Festival

On Sunday, we ventured from our campsite in the Stirling Range National Park to the Sleeping Lady Chalet in the Porongurup Range to meet up with our friends Kathryn & Steve who had rented the chalet for the long weekend. After using their hot shower (thank you) we headed to the vineyard next door to attend the annual Porongurup Wine Festival. It was $20 entry and included free food & wine tasting, live entertainment, grape stomping & cooking competitions. After the festival we walked back to Kathryn & Steve’s chalet while on the way sampling the grapes growing on the vines. We then spent the evening relaxing on their porch that overlooked a beautiful vineyard. We even picked some peaches and pears from the fruit trees, compared expensive, mid-range & cheap honey (Joe & Steve!!!), and devoured Kathryn’s homemade bread. What a perfect day, thank you Kathryn & Steve!
