We are lucky enough to live a 2 minute walk from the famous Katherine Hot Springs. It is always buzzing with tourists and locals frolicking in the 32 degree water. The car park is usually quite full and plenty of people illegally camp there overnight too utilizing the grassed picnic area with gas bbqs and toilets. We went for a swim yesterday and enjoyed watching some local kids doing massive olympic style swing jumps from rope attached to over hanging trees into the water. A real crowd pleaser. I’d call Katherine Hot Springs a “must see” in Katherine. Not as famous as Mataranka hot springs, but just as good I reckon. I’m thinking of abandonning showers and walking down to the Katherine Hot Springs every morning for a wash.
Now we are off to spend the next few days camping at Katherine Gorge.
