We’ve had a few interesting wildlife encounters recently here in Katherine – fireflies, chirping geckos, brown tree snake. Tonight it was a praying mantis feeding on a moth. We actually saw the praying mantis capture the moth from the inside of our kitchen window. It lashed out with its front legs, grasping the moth, and proceeded to slowly decapitate it, gnawing its way through the struggling moth’s neck. Took a couple of happy snaps why not.
